PROFILE
Enrolled in 1988 as a lawyer, Raviprasad has 34 years of extensive experience in real estate transactions, commercial and corporate matters, joint ventures, employment matters, corporate litigation, estate planning and succession, bankruptcy & insolvency, and amalgamations. His client profile is diverse and is spread over various industry verticals including technology, infrastructure, real estate, hospitality, healthcare, and ITES among others. He handles litigation matters before the High Courts, Civil Courts, Tribunals, NCLT and Arbitrators.
He was a member of the Government of India’s Bankruptcy Law Reforms Committee which deliberated, drafted and presented the Draft Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 bill.
He was engaged by the IRP to settle claims of creditors in the Deccan Chronicle Holdings Limited matter. He was appointed by the Hon’ble Acting Chief Justice of the High Court of Telangana and A.P., as the Advocate on Record for representing cases of judiciary in the Hon’ble High Court. He was also appointed by the Hon’ble Chief Justice as counsel to the Committee appointed by the High Court in a Public Interest Litigation in relation to the Agri-Gold matter for refund of depositors’ amounts of over INR 7,000 Crores.
REPRESENTATIVE TRANSACTIONS
- Advised Brookfield Asset Management on its investment of USD 135,000,000 in INDIS housing projects, a Hyderabad-based real estate firm.
- Advised HCL Infosystems Limited in the sale of a parcel of land in Hyderabad.
- Advised a UAE-based conglomerate in relation to the acquisition of a food processing company, its lands, and factory buildings spread across 13 acres.
- Advised a leading Indian conglomerate (with presence in FMCG, hotels, packaging and agriculture sectors), on the acquisition of residential and factory units spread over 580 Acres in Telangana.
- Advised a Bangalore-based farming collective in raising foreign investments and on various legal aspects in relation conversion of lands (of over 350 Acres).
- Advised an Investment Fund Corporation (a subsidiary of one of India’s largest public sector banks) on legal strategy for the acquisition of land for large infrastructure projects, and restructuring of the projects in Andhra Pradesh.
